ORØ-HOLBÆK
The first steamship sailed between Holbæk, Hornsherred and Orø in 1883. In 1890, the ship »Ourø«, connecting Orø and Vellerup, was put into service. From 1904, this vessel also called at Ejby. In 1926, the »M/S Margrethe« was put into service – the first ferry capable of carrying motor vehicles. In 2003, the new ferry »Orø« designed for 16 cars and 98 passengers was commissioned. Duration of service: approx. 27 minutes.

ØSTRE FÆRGE
The ferry connection between the isle of Orø and Hornsherred is the oldest ferry service of the Fjord Region. As early as 1745, horses and vehicles could be transported across this narrow eastern waterway. In 1929, a new jetty was constructed and since then, the service was conducted by motorboat. The present pull-ferry service, carrying up to 40 cars, has been operating since 1962. Duration of service: approx. 7 minutes.

KULHUSE-SØLAGER
The ferry service between North Zealand and Hornsherred was opened just over 50 years ago. For many years, the service was conducted by rowing boats and fishing vessels. Since 1962, by a ferry built at a Norwegian shipyard in 1948. The vessel was originally named »Pretty Maren« but underwent extensive renovations in 1962 to be commissioned as the »M/F Columbus« on the Kulhuse-Sølager service. Duration of service: approx. 8 minutes.

HUNDESTED-RØRVIG
This ferry service opened in 1917 when a new motor vessel was put into service, carrying up to 140 passengers plus goods and bicycles. In 1928, the first car ferry was commissioned, especially designed for this service. In 1958, a larger ferry was commissioned, supplemented in 1964 by yet another ferry. The present »Nakkehage« ferry followed in 1985. Duration of service: approx. 25 minutes.
